Cool headed and even tempered Lt. Ryder does his job professionally. Something of a work-a-holic he has no other real social life. Ryder has an optimistic outlook on life though as he believes order can be restored with enough effort.

- History -
Born in the Cumberland Plateaus to a farming family Kyle Ryder grew up in a rather normal life. He went to a normal schooland in a normal town until hell broke out. Rebels assaulted his home due to a military base nearby that used the mountain as an artillery point for shelling targets. Despite the military presence nothing seemed to be able to stop the enemy as a Gundam type power armor was among the attackers. He would be left alone after the event and eventually taken in by the military that had failed to protect his family. Instead of hating them though his anger went to those that burned his farming village down.

Over the years he would go from learning normal things in school to military tactics and engineering. He would enroll in the officers program for the USMP and eventually graduate with a recommendation to the Armor Hunter division. In this position he would learn the art of mechanized combat involving the power armor. He would learn squad tactics and the best way to handle rouge machines. In two years he would go from rookie to being given a squad leader position with the 2nd Special Mechanized Operations Forces, or Phantom Pain as it would be called.

- Talents -
Lt. Ryder is an expert on Gundam PAs and as a member of the Hunter division he brings experience to the group. His combat style is very melee oriented with his Striker choice being the Sword. This is because most Gundam PAs are also melee types. His swordsmanship is focused on destroy the enemies defenses and then delivering the fatal strike.

- Personality -
A wannabe commander with a stick up his ass. He believes he should have been the new leader of Phantom Pain and is the one that came up with the name. A hard ass by the very nature for the word, but a professional soldier that always follows orders.

- History -
The Second in Command even before Ryder showed up, he was next in line to take the previous commander's position. But because he is not a commissioned officer command decided to bring in an officer with experience in their field. Striker had been in the forces long enough to be up for retirement but has decided to remain in the military. Despite his dislike of Ryder his professional attitude forces Striker to give in and follow orders. In the end though they all want one thing and it keeps them together... to destroy the Gundam that killed their previous commander.

- Talents -
Striker is pretty well rounded soldier with a Marksmen 1st Class badge. He prefers street to street urban combat where the Alie Striker comes in handy. Dependable but not specialized he brings a solid feel to the team.

- Personality -
No non-sense and the loose cannon of the group. She was also the secret lover of the previous commander making her very temperamental when it comes to Gundam PAs. She's been reprimanded on several occasions for attacking allied units who pilot such rare machines.

- History -
Like Striker she was an original member of Phantom Pain and the one closest to the previous commander. This event scarred her mentally and left the high spirit Reika a wreck. Now of days shes more liable to just shoot first and ask questions later out of fear another incident could happen. Unlike Striker who just dislikes the new commander she is indifferent, convinced this new guy's only purpose is to help them avenge their fallen commander. Once that mission is over she expects Ryder to hit the road...

- Talent -
As a heavy weapons specialist she brings the big guns to the battle. Whether it be the Launcher Striker or Dopplhorn she prefers to level the field than actually hunt for their foe. Her focus on heavy firepower though leaves her rather lacking in tactics and close range combat.

Ensign Class Casey Hart

- Personality -
As the youngest member Casey seems out of his element. Actually he is the youngest member of the Special Operations Forces period... even if the new commander Ryder only beats him out by a few months. He is a genius in military tactics and joined Phantom Pain just after Ryder making him the kid of the group.

- History -
The son of a military family Casey was expected to join the military at a young age. Like Ryder he would go through the military academy and ace all his exams including leadership. The difference between him and the new commander is that Casey wasn't involved in any special forces unit but instead was placed in Phantom Pain as a result of his father's orders. So unlike the rest he never earned his way into the group and his relationship with the team shows it. He is treated more as the mascot than a real soldier, despite the fact he scored high in all his categories.

- Talents -
Casey, despite his position, is a talented tactical forecaster and soldier. His ability to synch with a PA is unmatched by any except Ryder and can hold his own in any fight. Unlike the rest who have specialties he can use any Striker and excels at them all. He is second in skill behind the commander and can match Ryder in a sword fight, though never finish the fight.
